This is our specialty.

Our designs for ageing in place are crafted, & delightful, enabling connectivity between individuals, family, landscape & community.

We design homes & living environments that are a celebration of the everyday rituals of life.

Sensitively, & without any loss to these qualities or increase in cost, they are also designed to ensure that, should our clients experience changes in their physical &/or cognitive capacity, they are not forced to leave their homes under duress.

Sure, there are specific considerations in designing for ageing in place, & we understand these well, good residential design (design for places in which people live) is universal. It spans all ages & capacities, has a social structure, connects with site, landscape, street & community, is climatically appropriate, employs materials & detailing of a relevant scale & nature, & it elevates the everyday rituals of life.

Enough words. See for yourself:

1. Living spaces for clients ageing in place, one with Parkinson's Disease:

- Not just accessible, but intimately connecting everyday tasks, & delightfully connecting with landscape

2. Bedroom for clients ageing in place:

- Not just suitable for receiving high care, but with beautiful corner views to landscape

3. Bathroom for the same client:

- Not just partially visible from the kitchen, deck, bedroom & living room (short term memory loss), but also private enough, beautifully calming, & with long landscape views

4. Corridor for the same clients above:

- Not just wheelchair accessible, but climatically beautiful with natural sunlight & cross ventilation, & with beautiful views to landscape (many eliciting long term memories for the client)

5. Guest bathroom for the same clients:

- Just because......the shower is accessible, so why not have a bath for anyone who feels physically able to take one &, while we're at it, engage with the trees & little creek beyond

6. Garden for ageing in place (on a steep site)

- Not just accessible now, but beautifully verdant & a great place for evening cocktails with friends (thank you also Larc landscape Architects)
